First, We Play Detective.
Fiber, soil level, traffic patterns, mystery spots, pet issues — we want to know what we're dealing with before we decide how to clean it.
A higher standard of carpet cleaning from Pittsburgh's floor care specialists since 1984.
Kids. Pets. Shoes. Spills. That one spot nobody remembers making.
Don't worry. We've seen worse.
From routine maintenance to carpet that's overdue for a little attention, we look at what we're working with, address the problem areas, and use the right process to get the best result possible.

Getting carpet truly clean means knowing what you're looking at — and knowing when the carpet is telling you it needs a little more attention. That's why our process starts before we ever turn on the machine.
Fiber, soil level, traffic patterns, mystery spots, pet issues — we want to know what we're dealing with before we decide how to clean it.
The right pre-treatment starts breaking down the soil that's holding onto your carpet fibers. When the condition calls for it, we add mechanical agitation to work that treatment through the carpet and loosen stubborn buildup.
This is where technique matters.
Hot-water extraction flushes the loosened soil and cleaning solution out of the carpet. Heavily soiled and high-traffic areas may need additional passes — so they get them. We don't move the wand at the same pace just because every part of the room happens to be the same size.
And every pass matters. Proper overlap helps make sure we're cleaning the whole carpet, not leaving little strips behind between wand passes.
Everyone wants their carpet dry quickly. So do we. But “fast drying” shouldn't come at the expense of getting it clean.
Our equipment recovers a tremendous amount of moisture during extraction, and we follow with dedicated dry strokes to pull out even more. When conditions call for it, we can adjust our process or use air movers to help speed things along — as long as doing so doesn't compromise the result.
Your carpet will still need some time to fully dry. Before we leave, we'll talk you through what to expect, provide booties so you can safely get around when needed, and make sure any furniture we've moved is handled appropriately.
Clean first. Dry as quickly as the job allows. No shortcuts to get there.
Edges, filtration lines, stubborn spots and areas that need another look get another look. If changing the approach can meaningfully improve the result, that's what we do.
When we're finished, we'll walk through the results with you. We'll show you what we accomplished, point out anything worth knowing and explain the occasional spot that simply wasn't going anywhere.
We like this part.
We're proud of what we leave behind.
Coffee. Wine. Mud. Grease. Pet accidents. Mystery spots with conveniently unreliable witnesses.
We've seen a lot. And we've gotten a lot of it out.
But not every spot is the same. Some are sitting on the carpet fibers waiting for the right treatment. Others have chemically changed, bleached or permanently stained the fiber. Knowing the difference — and knowing what to try next — is where experience matters.
We don't just hope the normal cleaning takes care of everything. Problem areas are identified, treated appropriately and reevaluated as we work. If something needs a different chemistry or another approach, we'll give it one.
Pet urine can be more complicated than the spot you see on the surface. Depending on the severity, contamination can travel through the carpet and into the backing or padding below.
We'll evaluate what we're dealing with and recommend the appropriate level of treatment — from individual problem spots to more extensive odor and contamination treatment when necessary.
Dark lines along walls, doorways, stairs and underneath doors are often filtration soil — extremely fine particles that collect where air moves through or around the carpet.
They're notoriously stubborn and can require specialized treatment beyond normal carpet cleaning. We'll identify them and let you know what we can realistically improve.
Heavy traffic lanes, years of buildup or carpet that's simply overdue may require more agitation, treatment and extraction than a routinely maintained room.
That's okay. We clean the carpet in front of us — not the carpet we hoped would be there.
It depends on the carpet, how much cleaning it required, airflow, humidity and conditions in your home.
Our standard process is designed to recover a lot of moisture during extraction, followed by dedicated dry strokes to remove even more. When faster drying is important, we have other options too — including air movers and low-moisture cleaning methods when they're appropriate.
Have a dinner party that evening? Kids coming home from school? A business that needs to reopen?

We'll talk through your needs, choose the right approach and set realistic expectations before we get started. We want your carpet dry as quickly as practical — we just won't sacrifice the quality of the cleaning to win a race against the clock.
Yes. We'll provide booties so you can get around when you need to.
We recommend keeping unnecessary traffic to a minimum while the carpet dries so freshly cleaned fibers aren't immediately exposed to new soil. We'll explain any precautions before we leave so you know exactly what to do.
Yes, within reason.
We'll talk with you before we start about what makes sense to move, what should stay put and what areas you'd like cleaned.
We're not expecting you to empty your living room before we arrive.
Yes, please.
We're not asking you to detail the carpet with tweezers. The goal is simply to remove the majority of loose debris so when we arrive, we can get right into the professional cleaning process.
A normal, thorough vacuuming and picking up toys, clothing and other loose items goes a long way toward keeping the appointment running smoothly.
If we arrive to significant debris or an area that requires substantial preparation before we can begin, we can certainly take care of it — just keep in mind that additional preparation takes additional time and may affect the cost of the job.
There's almost always something else we can try. The better question is: how far do you want to go?
Many spots respond beautifully to normal professional spotting. Others require specialized chemistry, additional time or advanced techniques. In difficult situations, we can go considerably further — specialized treatments, UV inspection and other restorative techniques may all be options.
And at the extreme end? A permanently damaged section of carpet can sometimes even be removed and repaired using donor carpet from somewhere like a closet.
Does that mean every option makes sense for every stain? Absolutely not.
A $20 problem and a $300 problem shouldn't automatically get the same solution. We'll explain what we believe is possible, what it would take and what it would cost. Then you decide how far you'd like us to go.
Our goal isn't to sell you the most aggressive treatment possible. It's to get you the result you want at a level of investment that makes sense to you.
Pet issues can range from a few isolated accidents to contamination that has reached the carpet backing, padding or even the material underneath.
That's why we don't automatically prescribe the same pet treatment to everyone.
We'll evaluate what we're dealing with, talk about your goals and recommend the appropriate level of treatment. Sometimes that's targeted spot treatment. Other situations require a much more involved approach.
We'll show you the options and let you decide what makes sense.
You know those perfectly uniform “shark teeth” patterns you sometimes see after a carpet cleaning? They photograph well. But they're not the finished product we're after.
After extraction, we groom the carpet to help restore the nap and leave the fibers properly finished rather than leaving behind the pattern made by the cleaning wand.
The goal isn't to leave proof of where the wand went. It's to leave properly cleaned, properly finished carpet.
There's no need to wait for your carpet to look dirty before giving it some attention.
Think about all the things we maintain before there's an obvious problem. We change the oil before the engine complains. We brush our teeth before they look like they need it. Carpet benefits from the same mindset.
For many homes, twice a year is a great starting point. Homes with kids, pets or heavily used areas may benefit from more frequent attention.
And that doesn't mean cleaning every room every time.
Your family room and stairs might need attention four times a year while a guest bedroom needs it once. A spill might need attention now instead of waiting another three months. The schedule should follow how your home is actually used.
